the auntie is boring but the mommy isn't!
well, mama alicia seems to be having a tidbit of a rough time with wyatt. she seems to be doing a little better now but a few weeks ago i think it was getting a bit tough for her. the poor little guy is a bit constipated and eating all the time (like every two hours in the middle of the night) so alicia isn't getting great sleep.
i don't much about babies so all i could offer was changing his formula because maybe something wasn't agreeing there will his upset tummy. we'll see what happens!
i talked to her the other day and she said she still hadn't found anyone to look after him when she goes back to work. i know that she wants to leave him with someone she knows, but everyone i've known who leaves their kiddos with a daycare seem to be good with it. a guy at our office leaves his baby (one year old next month) with a daycare and it's so convenient for both him and his wife. they seem to like it, as does their baby, since he gets to "socialize" with other babies. maybe she can find a place near her work so she can visit wyatt during her lunch if she doesn't find anyone else...
and that's all i know folks. not much but what can i say...i'm not the most exciting gal in the world.
i was sent tons of pics today so i'm going to post them...just click on them to enlarge. :) obviously they are in no particular chronological order :)
cheerios...

cingular sucks. but on to happy things!
well, i called the mommy a bit ago and she seemed to be doing fine. she said she had a swarm of visitors on tuesday and not too many yesterday, which is always good.
alicia and wyatt were released from the hospital yesterday at 5 pm (48 hours after birth). she said that she had to switch him over to a bottle and he didn't sleep well last night. i'm sure it's because of the different food! poor kid. or better yet, poor alicia and johnny.
i guess i don't really have any news to say except mama and baby are home and safe. oh. and they had to go to the doctor today because he's a little jaundiced but she has him in a swing in the sunshine so that should help. :)
good luck to them!!

oh baby! for real this time!
well, the preginator had her baby yesterday.
his official name is john wyatt.
he came into this glorious, yet very chilly world, at 4:23 pm, december 19th, 2005.
he weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was all of 20.5 inches long.
his little head is a little pointed and as of last night he could star in the movie the coneheads, but he is very very precious. they even "let" me hold him. probably not a good call on their part, but i didn't freak out too much so it turned out to be okay.
i will give more deets later on the day's events but for now, you can enjoy these cute pics of baby with his mama and his grandpa :)
enjoy, kiddos.

those shrimpies can kiss my rosy red bottom...
seeing as how preggers has been a complete slack-off this week i have taken it upon myself to make an entry in this otherwise lifeless blog this week.
but give the gal a break! she's getting ready to have a baby! i'm about 100% sure her posts will get to be even less after the baby is born! yikes!
we had a nice weekend together last weekend. as i have said numerous times before, we are two peas in a pod. we think so much alike that's it's frightening sometimes. i wish i could attribute this to us being related, but alas, we share no similar blood.
so, being so similar, we enjoy similar things. one in particular being the joy of just taking a night to do nothing. *sigh*
unfortunately for preggers (preggy, el pregnato, girl with baby, call her what you will) she was sick friday night until saturday afternoon with a yucky ole stomach virus. yuck. lucky for me (?) i had the virus two weeks before and her particular strand seems to have missed me. anyway, when i got there friday night, instead of being at her potluck bunco game, she was laying on the couch watching movies. so we watched the fantastic four (not SO fantastic, but very entertaining - i see a sequel in the near future) and then both called it a night after 11 pm. i was exhausted from a week of pretending to work and she was exhausted from blowing chunks all night.
saturday was a kind of late day. johnny went and got us donuts and milk (although i offered!) and after that we set out on our day of fun! we had lots of fun but we should probably call it "the day we got the travel system" or "our adventures in baby goods" or even "what NOT to do when you are 37 weeks pregnant on a saturday morning right before christmas when every store in town is a madhouse." regardless of what you call it, we had a good time shopping for the stroller/car seat. we started at babysrus thinking to ourselves "well hell! this shouldn't take long! walk in, grab the stroller/car seat and go! maybe pay for it if we're not feeling lucky!" however, it was not that easy. as a matter of fact it kind of sucked in a way because babyrus sucks! the girl was very helpful though!
what happened is we get there and go to stroller/car seat heaven (good god. why didn't somebody warn me about how much crap babies need? i'm glad i am not yet with child!). there were several thousand to choose from. okay, maybe not that many, but there certainly was an exuberant amount of them all in varying prices from expensive to over the top evidently your baby is worth 100 times it's weight in gold. the problem became clear to us very quickly: baby registry stroller no longer exists. no problemo. el pregnato isn't picky. she can deal. she picks another one, a nice gray plaid print. boy or girl. very pretty. one of those graco quattro things. we ask the girl a question about said baby mover and she replies "well, you can't have that one today because i am selling the last one right now". wrong answer!
helpful susie q calls other stores. nope. no one has it. "but it might be in in a couple of weeks" preggers looks helplessly at her overextended bellybutton and frowns. i say "uh. we don't have a couple of weeks" girl looks at preggers and giggles a little.
we look around for a bit and after our fair maiden tells us that toysrus carries the same strollers in different colors we think "what a grand idea! we'll go to a freaking toy store 3 weeks before christmas to look at strollers!"
have you people been to a toy store before christmas?? what were we thinking?? luckily i have this wonderful advantage that very few people in the world possess: when i am in the car with someone else driving and the parking lot is packed, 9 times out of 10 a spot will open up right near the front door. and it did! yay for us! but it didn't matter. mommies were fist fighting each other for the latest in barbie accessories! daddies were giving each other wedgies in efforts to slow their competition down in getting to the xbox 360 area! little kids were kicking and screaming with amazingly shrill voices "i want that!!! moooommmmmyyy!!!! daddy said i could have it!!!" *squawl* - oh wait. that's usually the case anyway as more children are spoiled rotten these days!
anyway, it was as if we were in a mental hospital and the meds had been stopped for weeks and the tv room was out of control with loonies!
our toyrus visit lasted approximately 5 minutes. get in, get the hell out. we got nothing. and we do not regret it. after that we went out to walmart in BFE which turned out to be a not so great walmart. then back to babyrus for a pretty cool graco travel system we had spotted the first time. very pretty. then home. it was a fun day...i just have to say that people need to get a little more holiday spirit before interacting with others...just for future reference.
anyway, between babysrus and toysrus we met johnny at red lobster for lunch. of course miss poopy pants (that would be me) can't hardly eat a single meal anywhere without getting sick to my stomach and had to use their restroom twice during our stay there. ugh. i picked up some imodium advanced at walmart later and was just fine after a bit.
sunday we went to our aunt cindy's for dinner with cindy, herb, josh, lisa, andrew, jace, johnny, alicia and myself. it was a nice dinner. cindy did a good job. the rest of the day was pretty uneventful. lisa left her diaper bag at cindy's so her and josh had to make the one hour/one way trip back to get it. alicia and i took care of jace and andrew (as if andrew needs a "baby" sitter!) while they were gone. fun stuff.
so that's all i know right now. alicia's still pregnant. and so far, that baby ain't coming in the super near future!

at least you have a reason...
i was so boring over thanksgiving.
so boring.
the only exciting thing to happen to me over the entire weekend was on the drive home. i got a freaking ticket. and not for speeding. geez. lucky me.
to tell the truth, i love going to my mom's house. i was discussing this a few weeks ago with a friend of mine. when i'm at my house i am usually constantly doing something. or at least if i'm watching tv, doing something while i'm watching tv (sewing, reading - yes i read while i watch tv - paying bills, etc). when i go to mom's house i get ragdoll syndrome. i walk in the door and become completely useless. i take naps. i watch insane amounts of tv. i'm so lifeless that i won't even get up to clean out my car in the garage. it's sad. i need to get out of that habit.
i'm hoping when the house is built, my ragdoll syndrome will go away. we'll see.

oh crap. i've already messed this up...
the baby is due january 1st.
it's a boy. (unless they really mistook his little wee wee for something else)
she missed out on "mishaps of a pregant girl: things you really need to know that they don't tell you with your first baby" or something like that...so here is her chance to put her two cents worth in on what it's like to be a new mommy. i'm just a pawn in her ploy to get people to read things she writes. or rather, for the first few months i will be the one calling her and/or visiting her to get lots of funny stories to give to you, our reader.
obviously we have zero readers at this point.
we are not discouraged.
meet carrie ann (the aunt) and alicia ( the mommy). hello world.
or rather, meet alicia later because i didn't tell her about this blog yet...oops.
